I just created a new collage of what I would love to wear these coming days! As you can see, plenty of glitters and plenty of gold and rhinestones, perfect I would say ;-)

Hi everyone!

Today another (A little last minute) option for your christmas decoration is the colour black. Either a black tree or just black ornaments can give you interior just that extra splash of defintion. It's a bold and modern option that gives a chic and elegant touch. I actually like the upside down christmas tree a lot! I would defenitely like to try this once. for now I'll just stick to my traditional pine tree, which is actually still not finished yet. This year I'm a bit behind on schedule with a lot of things, but no worries, once finished it will look perfect ;-) I'm actually going for the white/silver/red tree!

{ Dreaming of a White X-mas }

The one thing that would make christmas even more magical is waking up that day and looking outside your window and see that everything turn white and is covered in snow. Ever since I was a kid the song; I'm dreaming of a white christmas holds fond memories. I can't help it but white in combination with twinkling lights or candles has something magical. White is the colour of purity, clean and fresh. I think these meanings are perfect for the end of the year. Don't we all see this time as a moment to stand still and think about our last year and remember all the good things as well as some difficulties we may have overcome or losing loved ones. But also as a moment of a fresh start because the new year is just around the corner, waiting for us as a clean slate. The perfect colour for this feeling is white. Below I wanted to share with you some beautifull white christmas decorations, even if your ornaments and decoration aren't white, I still wish you all a magical holiday season!

Below I show you my proposal for a holiday party outfit combining both colours. It's a lot of shimmer and glitter and it might be too much for some of you. But for me it can never be too much during this season! You can wear it like this at night for a party or fancy cocktail party, or for an evening dinner with some high dernier black thights or stockings and a nice chunky black knit to balance the look! I hope this will inspire you to decide what you'll wear this holiday season.

Did you all have a great weekend? It was a magical weekend here! The snow turned everything in a big white wonderland and with the heating on indoors with good christmas music and a bunch of movie's it was a perfect relaxing weekend. My outfit on the other hand is a bit wilder ;-) I wore this last week. As you could tell from my previous post, I really love a good animal print. Seeing this shirt at zara, you can imagine it was sure I was taking it home with me! And I am still glad I did! I love these wedged ankle booties from Mango, they provide the perfect double wild effect ;-)

{ Red & White Christmas Inspiration }

Today, the 6th of december St. Nicolaas (Dutch Santa Claus) is on it's way back to Spain. So it is officially allowed to jump right in to anything that's related to christmas. Besides the cheesy but great christmas songs (I really like them, they always cheer me up!) is time to decorate our house and prepare for the christmas season and festivities! My favourite part, especially anything that includes tons of small lights! Red and white are the most traditional colours used for christmas decoration. I just wanted to share a few pictures with you for inspiration. I'm not sure what colour theme I'll pick, but I've still got a few days to think it over! And what will you guys be doing?

{ Style Crush - Olivia Palermo }

One of my all-time style crushes is still Olivia Palermo. Besides her bambi eyes and beautifull physics she has an incredible sense of style. I cannot imagine her ever wearing comfy sweatpants. Whenever she leaves her doostep she makes sure her hair and make-up is impecable and her outfits leave us green with envie. If I could choose someone's closet to switch with, it would definetly be hers!

She has a great sense for mix and match. She wears as well designer brands - with whom she is often friends with - as well as a great array of high street brands such as Zara and Topshop and a bunch of great accessories to top it off. Besides that she is one of the few people in the public eye who is not afraid to recycle her wardrobe! Well enough said, let the pictures speak for theirselves!

Look of the Day "Miniature Studs"

In this post I show you some pieces I bought last month. I am extremely happy with my big and warm navy wool coat from Zara. I love the small studded details on the sleeves that makes it just more special besides the simple straight cut and gorgeous fold over collar. 

The matching shoes from h&m were actually a coincidence. I went to h&m because I still had a 5 euro gift voucher, and saw these studded flats, just one pair and luckily in my size! They were 19,95 so minus the voucher, I believe I still got a good deal out of it. The best thing is yet to come... once I arrived at the cashier and she scanned the item, the cash register said; 7 euros. So I asked slightly surprised if that was after the deduction from the voucher? Well, the cashier replied, no, with the voucher the total will be..... 2 EUROS!! Can you believe it? Not only had I found something and used the gift voucher, but also was a a perfect match with my new winter coat AND for an incredible bargain! Who said fashion is always about splurging? These small thing really make my day! I hope you guys like the outfit I'm wearing, it's all in the miniature details!

Today I present you a perfect fall outfit. A sunday outfit with great fall colours. This must be one of my favourite printed blazers. I bought it online from ASOS and I still hadn't had a chance to wear it. So it's been waiting for months in my closet. It's colourfull and oversized, perfect to function as the eyecatcher in your outfit! Besides the clutch and the sunnies, all the rest is recently bought. Too bad the quality of the pictures doesn't allow you to see the lovely navy blue coated skinny jeans from zara, love all these coated jeans! I hope you like it, I did!!

I am over my heels in love with this burgundy knit from Primark. It's one of the greatest winter buys, the colour is great as well as the pattern and it's nice, warm and cosy. How was your week? Did you have a nice weekend? I did! My boyfriend and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary! We went out for dinner and a movie on friday and yesterday we spent the day in Dusseldorf. We had a great time and I feel sad the weekend is almost coming to and end. I always enjoy spending time at home with my loved ones!

Look of the day "Bedazzeled"

Hi everyone!

Thank you for all your sweet comments and follows! Always love to read them! This week I opted again for my favourite winter jeans and spiced it up with so much gold and sparkles that it seemed bedazzeling, hence the titel ;-) It's actually an easy and comfortable look, but because of the shades and the added accessories you can wear this as well by evening to go out for dinner etc. By day just wear some flats, and you're off to go!

Look of the Day "African Summer"

I never mind the transition between summer and fall, better known as Indian Summer. You notice the season's changing, the cold is kicking in, the leaves go from green to the most beautifull range of yellow, orange and red, before they fall. And sometimes if you are lucky the sun comes out and makes everything even more beautifull, as if it we're a painting from Monet. I know it sounds cheesy, but I love this time of year and appreciate the beauty of nature. 

That is were I got the inspiration for my outfit below. The colours represent the colourfull leaves on the trees at this time of year. And because of the african print on my T-shirt, which by the way comes from the men's department at Zara, I call it african summer, instead of Indian ;-) Cheers to that! Hope you'll like it!

Today I wanted to share with you some inspirational pictures of one of these A/W'12 trends that I love. One of them is the metallic/gold/silver/sequins trend.
I love it because wether you choose a garment that contains one of the mentioned before or just an eyecatching detail to accesorize your look, it will spice up any dark fall/winter outfit and give it instant glam.

{ Back online again }

Hello all of you again!!?!..,, if you are still there? And of course hello to all of you who are new to Lolita in the Mix! Welcome back! And thank you for waiting.

So where have I been and what have I been doing?

Well......,, besides my busy work schedule that I've picked up again. I've been reading & surfing the web to keep up with all of the posts, news flashes and latest fashion weeks collections. The world doesn't stand still when you decide to buzz out for a month.

I had the pleasure to catch up on my sleep, relax, worship the sun, and upload my energy level during my long long holiday. I had a lovely holiday of more then 2 weeks on the Turkish coast and enjoyed their great cuisine with some good company!

You can imagine when spending such a late holiday at the end of summer and having enjoyed the Turkish weather it was a big bowl of dissappointment to return back home where I was confronted with Dutch autumn weather! The first week I felt a bit down, looking at my tanned skin and seeing the grey skies outside.
I snuggled up on the couch under these big warm faux fur plaids and had a Dallas 2012 and Switched at Birth marathon (Both new tv-series on Dutch telly). Then decided it was time to get myself together and I made an appointment with my hairdresser and had a big chunck of lenght cut off. Hello new healthy looking mane! With my new Olivia Palermo'esque hairdo and big a/w fashion wishlist, I'm ready to go for whatever this season has coming!

I've been changing, cutting and tweeking on the blog's layout and decided to go for a new fresh and clean start. What do you think; do you like it or did you prefer the previous look?

Look of the Day "Turqoise & Caicos"

It's almost time for my summer holiday, can't wait to go after the lousy summer we experienced this year. Just relax, catch up on my sleep, lay by the pool or beachshore, enjoy good food and company but most important do nothing! After some busy months that is all that I need right now. To get in the mood for my trip I decided to go all turqoise, one of my favourite colours in summer. That is the first step, the second is deciding what to pack, since I can't bring several suitcases with me ;-)

This outfit is a mix of soft and sweet pink tones, with some rosé gold and floral touches. Wearing it with my all time favourite grey skinnies I was good to go.

The blazer was a beautifull borrow from my sister, lucky me! We have the same taste, this usually results in us buying exact the same items. But whenever we already know we like something and one of us already has it, it would be a shame to buy it double, since we can always borrow from each other! When I was younger and still lived at home I wasn't always so thrilled about this advantage since I was always looking for stuff that disappeared in my sisters closet. But now every once and a while we try to benefit from each others hauls.
